Expanding Pathways to Science, Engineering and Mathematics Summer Institute

EPSEM SI seeks to inspire and nurture students towards pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through multi-tiered, articulated academic mentorship. This program targets talented and motivated students who can benefit from additional support and encouragement. We build partnerships with high schools and community colleges to expand the pathways in which such students may successfully pursue their academic and career aspirations in STEM fields. California community college students can participate in the two week EPSEM Summer Institute. Activities include lab projects in a research lab, strategies for academic success, work on team design/problem solving, develop oral presentation skills, discuss career options with professionals, and leadership skills development.

Note: The EPSEM Summer Institute will not be accepting applications for summer 2009.
