About Dan Burnham
Dan Burnham is the retired Chairman and CEO of Raytheon Company. Prior to Raytheon, he held numerous leadership and management roles at companies including Allied Signal and the Carborundum Company. Burnham is a past director of First Data, AlliedSignal, and FleetBoston, past chairman of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, past chairman of the President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, past chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association and a member of The Business Council. Burnham is a trustee of LMI, a Washington, D.C.-based government consulting firm and he is on the boards of a number of California based ventures. He received a bachelor's degree in economics from Xavier University in 1968 and a master's of business administration from the University of New Hampshire in 1970. Burnham has been presented with honorary degrees from Pepperdine University and Bentley College. He is a Trustee of the Foundation of UC, Santa Barbara and serves on a number of advisory committees within the University.
The Burnham Engineering and Applied Science Scholarship Fund and the Burnham Scholars Program has been established through a generous gift from Dan Burnham. He is honored to be associated with UCSB in this special way and to have the opportunity to inspire and support talented young people.
